Nominees for The Game Awards 2023 were announced Monday (UTC) and the contenders for Game of the Year are: Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 had the most nominations across all categories with eight each.
Spider-Man 2 is up for 7 awards, and there were five each for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder and one nod for Starfield.
Along with Game of the Year, Baldur’s Gate 3 is also up for Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Score and Music, Best Performance (from Neil Newbon), Best Community Support, Best RPG and Best Multiplayer.
Alan Wake 2 is nominated for Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Sound Design, Best Performance (from Melanie Liburd), and Best Action/Adventure Game.
