Last month, we touched on developments on the Polemos Forge, award-winning web3 games, and hope-driven investment in crypto. This month builds on some of these topics, with fresh platform updates, an insightful interview with Moonfrost’s art director, and a quick look at ‘meme coin madness’. We’ll also catch you up on a new gaming ‘chains explained’ series, and closer look at the Polemos and Buff partnership through a Cultivate Crypto live YouTube AMA.

Cultivate Crypto's Polemos & Buff Gaming AMA
We recently went live on YouTube with Cultivate Crypto, where host Charlie Engler chatted with Polemos’s Carl Wilgenbus, and Buff Gaming’s CEO, Elay De Beer. The trio discussed how partnerships in Web3 can bring massive waves of new players into the space. If you missed it, the replay offers a front-row seat to how Polemos plans to welcome mainstream gamers.
Buff Gaming’s massive audience
Buff operates as a loyalty rewards system for 16+ million gamers across major Web2 titles—think Fortnite, Call of Duty, League of Legends, and Minecraft. Their reward system already tracks in-game performance and distributes perks. Integrating Web3 seamlessly into that system connects a just-right massive audience of hundreds of thousands of daily active users with web3.
Eliminating unnecessary friction
Carl emphasized how Polemos will handle wallet creation in the background, and facilitate flexible transactions without the need to on-ramp special currency.
Real gaming value, not hype
Elay pointed out that, following the Web3 space for a long time, there have been many hype-driven projects that haven’t actually offered good gameplay. He believes gamers will adopt blockchain—but only when the games focus on the content.
Bringing vetted Web3 games to millions of engaged players through a familiar, trusted platform marks a meaningful shift. More players can explore blockchain gaming on their terms, making adoption feel less like a leap and more like a natural next step.
Polemos’s platform supports the philosophies expressed in the discussion: access to Web3 games should be a seamless, polished experience, allowing gamers to focus on playing. We’ll continue to lean into these alliances to bring smooth, enjoyable game-asset ownership to new Web3 gamers.
If you missed the live discussion, catch the replay on Cultivate Crypto’s YouTube channel.
Every Chain Explained
Understanding terms like “Layer 1,” “Layer 2,” or the differences between chains like AVAX and IMX can be tricky, but Caveman’s new video series is breaking it all down. The first installment, now live, takes a closer look at Immutable X (IMX), one of the top networks for Web3 gaming. Up next: Avalanche (AVAX). If you’re curious about how these chains work—and why they matter for gamers—be sure to check it out. What is Immutable X (IMX)?
Meme Coin Madness
Lately, the wider crypto world has churned up fresh controversies. In Argentina, President Javier Milei is under fire for boosting a meme coin that rocketed in value, only for the early holders to exit, tanking the price. Meanwhile, exchange hacks and high-profile fiascos have some investors skittish.
Historically when there’s sudden momentum in crypto, controversies pop up at a higher rate, along with accelerated progress. If this momentum veers away from meme coin missteps, might conventional wisdom draw that momentum towards utility?
Time will tell, but we’ll have plenty more to say about utility in the future. Building actual products (like web3 platforms and playable games) continues to look more sustainable than chasing the next big meme. Stay safe and stay curious.
Moonfrost is too beautiful to ignore
Previously, we spotlighted Moonfrost after it won “Best Art Direction” at the GAM3 Awards. Now, Lyka had a chance to speak directly with co-CEO and art director Gina Nelson. Gina shares how the game has handled “waves of backlash” from some cozy gamers wary of anything blockchain.
In our full interview, Gina explains how Moonfrost navigated skepticism—from downplaying NFTs to being more upfront about them—and how the game still manages to attract genuine interest, even from skeptics. Watch here: How this Indie Game Studio saved Moonfrost
By listening and building alongside its community, Moonfrost has won many people over, while still in closed alpha. There’s nothing quite like it—Web3 or otherwise—and its artistry and depth make comparisons to Stardew Valley or The Sims feel like an understatement.
Keep an eye out for early access—because once more people actually play it, we suspect backlash may shift into curiosity, and eventually, enthusiasm.
What’s next?
There’s a lot to be excited about in the coming months, as Polemos continues to expand, refine, and simplify Web3 gaming. Here’s what else is on the horizon:
-
TGE – The PLMS Token Generation. Check out the PLMS section of our Whitepaper for the full details.
-
Futureverse Integration – Developing deeper asset support for Futureverse on our platform.
-
More Games & Chains – We’re continuing to integrate more Web3 games and blockchain networks into The Forge.
-
On/Off-Ramp Solutions – Our goal is to provide seamless mechanisms for players to enter the Web3 ecosystems, and enhance their ability to manage and utilize their earnings.
-
Polemos University Courses – Structured, interactive courses to help our users succeed in Web3 games, progressing through the ecosystem to gain a strategic advantage and make the most of their assets.
We hope these updates give you a sense of where Polemos and blockchain gaming are headed. We’ll keep refining the Forge, hosting conversations with Web3 innovators, and bringing you perspective on what’s shaping the industry.
